Commodore Cup

An enjoyable job I undertook recently was a story on the Parker’s Commodore Cup VR race car. Perhaps the cheapest form of competitive V8 motorsport in Australia, the small engined Commodores utilise an older generation 253ci engine which generates a solid 300hp to the back wheels. Look out for the full feature in an upcoming issue of Street Commodores Magazine.

Anthony’s VN PLus 8 has an old school look wrapped in a later model shell. The large Simmons wheels really set the car off. See the full story in an upcoming issue of Street Commodores magazine.

Classic not plastic as the old saying goes. Said’s 11-second XY Falcon is a good example of a quick street car driven anywhere anytime. Look out for this shoot in Extreme Performance Magazine.

Gamer

Released back in September I finally caught a session of it the other night. It was never released in Australia however.

Plot: Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called “Slayers” looks to regain his independence while taking down the game’s mastermind.

Gamer – Official Trailer

Gerald Butler is a badass good guy, the token one man wrecking crew while Michael C Hall (Dexter) plays the control freak mastermind behind the virital relaity world. Gamer lifts many ideas from the classic 1987 flick The Running Man. I was waiting for Damon Killian to walk onto the set of Slayers.

Who loves you and who do you love?

The first half of this movie is far more entertaining than the second half. I could compare it to a real world version of the popluar computer game Counter Strike. Blokes gettnig fragged galore and yes there is gore, a lot of it. Bulter is only a few games away from being granted release but we know that isn’t supposed to happen – he needs to get out and save his wife and kid, yes a touch predictable but who cares as this is an action movie afterall.

Keep an eye out for the overweight slob who is controlling Butler’s wife, some seriously weird shit right there!

Rating: 7/10
