A great way to get involved in motorsport is at a local track day. These are held all around the country and the best part is you can basically race anything as long as it’s in good running order. All you need is a helmet and day license.

Built in his home garage comes John’s GM powered LS1 powered KE Corolla. This engine had already run deep into the tens in a heavier car so a lightweight V8 small car is bound to be a handful of fun on the street. Keep an eye out for it in an upcoming issue of Extreme Street Magazine.

It seems the popular Toyota 2JZ engine is being put into anything these days. Here is another great example of a modern retro fit into an older HR Holden.

Paul has done a great job by keeping everything hidden inside the bay including a trick water intercooler setup. Cooling everything is taken care of by some five thermo fans.

Photographed for Fast Fours Magazine, Jason’s WRX is a bit of a suprise packet. A 2.2L stroker running on E85 ethanol fuel is good for around 300kW to the wheels.

The car also featured a Varex exhaust system making the car extremely quiet for our early morning Sunday meet up.

I only got a few driving shots of this super clean VL turbo out of the way before the skies opened up. We will have to come back to this one at a later date.
