The current issue of Street Commodores Magazine goes behind the doors at C&A Auto Fashion in Blackburn. I had the pleasure of covering this for the guys who specialise in GM LS1 performance.

Look out for an expose in this month’s issue of Street Commodores Magazine for a workshop feature on performance specilaist A.P.S. Unlike a lot of workshops I visit A.P.S was quite well lit up with a lot of natural lighting which certainly made my job easier.

I came across this interesting car recently. I didn’t know much about them until now. The Z30 Toyota Soarer was sold in limited numbers from 91-96 as a top of the line 30 seris model called a UZZ32. Quite amazying when you think that these cars are coming up on close to being 20 years old.

http://en.wikipedia.org
The UZZ32 was the top of the line 30 series featuring four wheel steering and a complex hydraulic computer- controlled active suspension system. This did away with conventional springs and anti-roll (stabiliser) bars in favour of hydraulic struts controlled by sensors that detected cornering, acceleration and braking forces. The system worked well and gave an unusually controlled yet smooth ride with no body roll, but the weight penalty of the system affected straight-line performance somewhat, and the car was costly to produce. As a result, only 873 UZZ32s were made and are now collectors items in the UK and Australia.

Spotted this cool ride at a workshop recently. Milan’s Proton Satria GTi carruies an all-wheel drive conversion and is powered by a now turbocahrged 4G93 (1.8L) engine. The guys are looking to run very quick hence why an auto gearbox is now also installed. Keep an eye out for this one at the drags.

Well known off-road specialist Johnsons Performance Centre has yet another build up on the way. Here’s a few earlier pics of the Nissan Patrol 4.2L turbo.

Looking for a brake upgrade for your older car? Look no further than Melbourne most well known brake specialist Hoppers Stoppers.
Hoppers has literately hundreds of conversion kits for Australian, Eruo and USA based cars dating back to the 1930′s. And if they don’t have your car on file they can probably make a drum to disk conversion for it.
This kit below is for a Aussie spec Valiant. It is made up of of 300mm BA Falcon disc rotors and AU3 Falcon PRB twin piston calipers.
